New 1/72 postwar P-51D decals

The latest release from Mike Grant Decals features four postwar P-51D schemes: two colourful options from the Indiana Air National Guard, a Chinese aircraft flown by Captain Hsu Chi-Hiang, and an unusual F-51D flown by the Republic of Haiti in 1963. Full colour instructions are provided. The decals have been designed to fit the new tool 1/72 Airfix F-51D (A02047) but will fit most 1/72 P-51D kits with only minor adjustments. They can be ordered here.

The model shown is the new-tool Airfix kit finished in the Haitian markings from the sheet. This aircraft carried two F-86 drop tanks, which for the model were taken from a Special Hobby Sabre kit. Other modifications were the fixed tailwheel and various antenna. Quickboost resin seat and exhausts were also used.
